Hi, I’m Chamila, a dedicated Performance Digital Marketer journey defined by determination, innovation, and continuous growth. Let me share my experience with you.
Starting With a Blank Slate
In 2013, after completing my A/Ls, I wasn’t sure where my career would take me. To explore my interests, I enrolled in a Computer Hardware NVQ Level 4 course. This included six months of hands-on industrial training, where I built a strong technical foundation. Working in the field for over a year taught me how technology could solve real-world challenges.
Discovering the Power of Creativity and Technology
In 2016, I decided to level up my skills and pursued a Diploma in ICT (NVQ Level 5). After completing industrial training, I worked as a Graphic Designer and IT Specialist at one of Sri Lanka’s leading chicken production companies. This was my first experience blending technical expertise with creative design. It sparked an interest in branding and marketing, setting the stage for what would come next.
The Turning Point - University and Muaythai
Eager to push my boundaries, I passed the aptitude test and joined the B.Tech in Multimedia and Web Technology program at the University of Vocational Technology in Ratmalana. While studying, I became deeply involved with the Sri Lanka Muaythai Federation. What started as designing posters and promotional materials soon turned into a passion for marketing. This was the moment I realized I wanted to build a career in digital marketing.
Building a Brand From the Ground Up
In 2022, I co-founded World Boxing Council Muaythai Sri Lanka in collaboration with the World Boxing Council. As a Director and Digital Marketing Manager, I took on the challenge of building the organization’s presence both locally and internationally. From developing the website to managing social media accounts, running ad campaigns, and creating a cohesive digital strategy, I was hands-on in every aspect of the brand’s growth.
Making History in Sri Lankan Martial Arts
In 2023, we hosted Sri Lanka’s first-ever professional international Muaythai championship in Colombo—a groundbreaking event in the country’s martial arts history. I designed promotional materials, crafted marketing campaigns, and managed Meta ads to ensure its success. It was a proud moment and a testament to the power of digital marketing in bringing people together.
Lifelong Learning - The Key to Staying Ahead
As I worked on these ambitious projects, I realized the importance of staying ahead in a constantly evolving field. I dedicated myself to self-studying topics like SEO, social media management, and paid advertising while completing professional courses to validate my knowledge and sharpen my skills.
What I Bring to the Table
Today, I use my diverse experience to help businesses grow their digital presence. My unique journey—from IT technician to graphic designer to digital marketing specialist—has equipped me with the technical know-how, creative vision, and strategic mindset to succeed in the dynamic world of digital marketing.
